Sirens (2018)

What would an open-momentum feel like? What would I ask a struggling somebodiness? How would I define voice?

Sirens is a structured listening-experience questioning the weight of political voice and conscience that followed the 2016 US Presidential Election. Composed for a choir of improvisatory voices, clarinet, spoken word, and prerecorded voices, Sirens consists of three individual pieces, The Guides; Speakers; The Movement of Life. The work was composed through led workshops referencing Pauline Oliveros’ Deep Listening methodology, Lewis Halprin’s RSVP Cycle, and personal practice-based research.

Sirens was performed at Milton Court TV Studio Theater, London, UK to fulfill the M.M. Leadership degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
